EDDIE LEON

A die hard boating enthusiast, I have a real passion for getting people on the water. Whether guiding groups of boaters in the Bahamas or spending time with a novice boater in the bay, I try to help each Plantation Boat Mart customer to realize how amazing the boating life style is. Our events have turned thousands of customers from all over the world into a family of boaters with planned reunions all over the Bahamas and South Florida.

I am a South Florida native, being born and raised in Miami. I graduated from Christopher Columbus High School in 1992 and earned my BA from the University of Miami in 1996. I joined Plantation Boat Mart in 1998 and have spent the last 10 years with Plantation Boat Mart. In 2008, I completed my first Ironman triathlon. Today, I continue to dedicate myself to the outdoors whether it’s run and gun tournament fishing, spear fishing in the Bahamas or racing hundreds of miles in triathlon.

SCOTT WARNIKE

I grew up on the shores of Lake Huron in Michigan working at the family marina. This 100-slip facility with service, sales and manufacturing taught me several aspects of the marine business. During this time I was taught all aspects of manufacturing of 24, 36 and 44 foot Trojan Yachts. Later, I joined the US Navy and was a Nuclear Operations instructor and operator on land based and submarine based nuclear power plants. For the last 15 years I have returned to my roots in the marine industry as a sales consultant and have had the pleasure of working on making people’s dreams come true.

My customer’s happiness is my first concern and the second is that they get what they are looking for. It is my hope that I can help you find your next boat or yacht, and leave you with the best experience of your life. I look forward to working with you.

GUY VONDER LINDEN

I relocated to South Florida from the Northeast (New Jersey) just over a year ago when I began working at PBM, but my boating background takes me back 18 years! Starting in the boatyard bottom painting, I worked my way up the ladder to production and all the way to general manager. I am a certified technician with the understanding that I do my job for the customer and their boating lifestyle!

My passion is fishing. Period. Whether it be charter fishing in the Bahamas or tournament fishing in Costa Rica or the Pacific Ocean… I have done it all worldwide.

My experience is an added advantage to any customer who is seeking a true assistant boat buyer as I can help you find the right boat for your needs and wants.

BRETT FURSHMAN

Although I have only been in the boating industry as a career for the past 10 years, boats have been in my life since I was a child.

I have had the pleasure of being an offshore powerboat racer 10 years now, with the added privilege of racing and winning several checkered flags and nominations. I currently hold 4 National titles and 5 World titles, racing boats ranging from Cigarettes to Fountains to catamarans. I am most known for my sponsoring company Miccossukee Indian Gaming company.

I recently came to the PBM family to further my interest in getting other boaters as passionate as I am into the boating lifestyle! I am confident there is no greater way to appreciate life than enjoying it on the water.

SHAD VERA

I am a boating enthusiast committed to serving others and their boating needs I am in this business for the sheer enjoyment of it. My boating knowledge comes from growing up here in the keys on my father’s marina. My hands on experience comes from owning, operating, and maintaining an assortment of different styles of boats throughout my life; from offshore fishing boats, to backcountry skiffs, and even high performance boats. I enjoy all styles of boating! Fishing, diving, spear fishing, island hopping, poker runs, wakeboarding, or just going out for a cruise. Being on the water is all that matters.

LESLIE DE LA TORRE

My career at Plantation Boat Mart began at day one in 1996! As a member of the founding family, I have been in and around the boating business my entire life and it still plays a major part in my immediate family’s happiness.

At the shop, I handle many responsibilities including sales assistance on the retail finance side and to advertising needs both in print and online.

My husband and 2 children take an annual fishing trip to the Bahamas where we do what we love – fish! There is no better way to spend time and strengthen the bonds of family than in a boat on the water! That is why I have remained in the business and take great pleasure when we welcome a new member to the PBM family knowing they will enjoy it as much as I do!

KATHY MANN

At a young age, growing up in Tennessee and Kentucky, I knew I did not like cold weather! After graduating from Morehead State University with a BBA in 1979, I packed my few belongings and relocated to Sarasota, FL. Quite by accident, I entered what would be a long career in the marine industry, by accepting a position at Wellcraft Marine as an accounts payable clerk. With my degree and ambition, I worked my way through several positions in the Accounting department, and then moved to the Sales department as National Sales Administrator overseeing production scheduling and dealer communications. After 10 years at Wellcraft, I went to Donzi Marine where I worked in several capacities – production scheduling, assisting in software conversions, and lastly as Credit Manager. My entry into the retail side came when I accepted the position of CFO at a large boat dealership, later becoming COO, overseeing all aspects of the 6 locations for absentee owners.

In 1997, I became a self-employed consultant and on-site trainer for BiT Marine Software. I traveled around the country assisting dealers in running their business more efficiently. On one of these visits in 2003, I accepted the position of General Manager at PBM. I assist the De La Torres in the day-to-day operations and management of their family business.

My passion? Besides working - ballroom dancing. I recently had the opportunity to rediscover this passion and have taken it to the next level by participating competitively.

CHERYL GUY

I have a good sense of humor. I like driving fast in cars, four-wheeling and boating, but also enjoy canoeing, sailing and kayaking. That is why I have enjoyed myself as part of the Plantation Boat Mart team since 2004.

My duties include Accounting and Finance assistance as well as executive administration responsibilities. That means I make sure the entire company gets what they need to do their jobs and sometimes even bake up some delicious homemade chocolate chip cookies for the team to make the workday stay wonderful and uplifting!
